Gaffer — Job Management for Tradesmen

        Summary: Gaffer stores your data locally on your device. We do not have access to your customers, jobs, notes, photos or files. We collect anonymous crash reports and usage analytics to improve the app.
    

1. Who We Are

Gaffer is developed by TapMaxDev. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Gaffer mobile application on iOS and Android.

2. Data You Enter

Gaffer allows you to store the following information:

Customer details (name, phone number, email address, postal address)
Job details (title, site address, status)
Notes against customers and jobs
Photos and documents attached to jobs

All of this data is stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, transmit, or have access to any of your business data. Your customer information, job records, photos, and files never leave your device unless you choose to export them yourself.

3. Data Export & Backup

Gaffer provides an export feature that allows you to save your data as a JSON file and your photos/documents as a ZIP file. When you export, the data is shared via your device's native share sheet — you choose where to save it (Google Drive, iCloud, email, etc.). We do not receive or store any exported data.

4. Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use the following third-party services to help us improve the app:

Firebase Analytics (Google)

We collect anonymous usage data to understand how the app is used. This includes:

App opens and screen views
Device type and operating system version
General geographic region (country level)

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you or your customers. No business data (customer names, phone numbers, addresses, etc.) is ever sent to analytics.

Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

If the app crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent to help us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports include:

Device model and operating system version
Stack trace (technical error information)
App version

Crash reports do not contain any of your personal data, customer data, or business information.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

To be clear, we do not collect, store, or have access to:

Your name, email, or personal details
Your customers' names, phone numbers, emails, or addresses
Your job details, notes, photos, or documents
Your location data
Your contacts, calendar, or any other phone data

6. Third-Party Services

Gaffer uses the following third-party services:

Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reporting (Google Privacy Policy)

7. Permissions

Gaffer may request the following device permissions:

Camera — to take photos for jobs (only when you tap the camera option)
Photo Library — to select existing photos for jobs
Files — to attach documents to jobs and to import/export data

These permissions are only used for the stated purposes. We do not access your photos, files, or camera in the background.

8. Children's Privacy

Gaffer is designed for use by tradesmen and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete individual customers, jobs, notes, photos, and files within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
